Renault India To Launch Sub-4 Lakh Hatchback & MPV In 2015
Next year will see Renault India launch two new products - an INR sub-4 lakh hatchback and an MPV. The hatchback, known by its codename, XBA, will be a brand new model, while the MPV is expected to be the Renault/Dacia Lodgy.
Except for the Duster, no other Renault India product is doing particularly well. While the launch of the budget car Datsun GO has bring in more numbers, the company still requires more affordable products to gain traction.
This is where the XBA will come in. To be Renault's first ever product built on the new CMF-A modular platform, this budget hatchback will be released in the high volume segment and would be priced over the Datsun GO.

The XBA would be the first of several future products that would be based on the highly flexible CMF-A platform. Work on the CMF-A is being carried out in Renault-Nissan's facility near Chennai.
The INR sub-4 lakh hatchback would also be the first car to be powered by Renault's new fuel efficient 1.0-litre petrol engine.

Coming to the MPV, the Lodgy is a seven seater that's based on the Duster's M0 platform. The MPV will share more than just the platform with the Duster and would benefit from shared interiors and even the smaller engines, including the 85PS diesel unit.
Renault seven seater will fall under the same category as Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio. However, it is unlikely to carry the Lodgy nameplate.
