Renault Entry Level Car For India To Be Launched In 2015
Renault India is preparing a new small car that will be placed beneath the Pulse hatchback, which is a rebadged Nissan Micra. The revelation was made by Sumit Sawhney, managing director and chief executive, during an interview given to LiveMint.
While the Pulse hatchback has a starting price of INR 4.42 lakh, the upcoming small car will be priced at below INR 4 lakh and will go up against Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Nissan's Datsun GO.
The launch of Renault's small car has been scheduled for mid-2015.

Renault India has reportedly increased the production capacity at its Chennai facility, which it shares with Nissan, from 4 lakh to 4.80 lakh units to accommodate the upcoming small hatchback.
Renault India is also said to be planning to expand its dealership network from 125 to 170 by end of the year.
With the launch of the new model, Renault hopes to double its market share in the hatchback segment to 5 percent.
