Nissan X-Trail & Nissan 370Z To Be Discontinued In India
Nissan has announced that it will discontinue the sales of its premium SUV, the X-Trail & the entry level sports car, the 370Z, in India. This comes in the wake of poor sales of the X-Trail luxury SUV and almost non-existant sales of the 370Z.
The automaker has hence decided to expend all its efforts to further it aim of selling high volume locally built models such as the Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Evalia and Terrano. All of these models are manufactured at the automaker's Oragadam, Chennai manufacturing facility.
"In India, Nissan has been constantly expanding its innovative and exciting product range, and will continue to deliver cutting-edge technology, distinctive design and a rewarding experience to all its customers. Terrano, Nissan's latest offering marks its entry in the growing compact SUV segment," Nissan said a statement.
With the exit of the X-Trail & 370Z India has missed out on two very capable and globally successful models.

Nissan X-Trail in India was powered by a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder diesel engine rated at 150 HP at 4000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. The X-Trail also came with an exhaustive array of equipments and features, along with offering plenty of space.

Nissan X-Trail was offered in India for a starting price of INR 22.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). A few X-Trails could still be available in a few dealerships until the inventory goes dry.

Nissan 370Z is a two seater sports coupe that's powered by a 332 HP, 363 Nm torque, 3.7 liter petrol engine and was offered with a 7 speed automatic and a 6 speed manual transmission in India. The 370Z can accelerate to 100 km/h in under 6 seconds.

Nissan 370Z sports coupe was imported into India and thus sported a high price tag which went over INR 60 lakhs on-road.
