Nissan Terrano Unveiled; Bookings Start Sep 1; Sub-Rs 10 Lakh Price
The unveiling of the Terrano "premium compact SUV" from Nissan took place today at an event held in Mumbai. The launch itself, however, will take place in the first week of October, with bookings starting from September 1st. Final pricing details will only be revealed on launch.
The Terrano happens to be more than just a rebadged Duster. Apart from the new front front fascia the SUV also comes with sheet metal changes which bring out a profile that is slightly beefier and rugged compared to Renault Duster.

The "double layer heritage grille" design follows Nissan's design philosophy and is synonymous with other Nissan SUV's such as X-Trail, Pathfinder and Patrol. The headlights are narrower and angular compared to the Duster.

Looking at the Terrano you'll realize it looks slightly larger than the Duster. This would be mainly due to the bulkier bumper and fender designs. The roof rails on the Terrano wear the body colour, while the B-pillar is blacked out, which is the exact reverse of the Duster. Also new are the 16 inch machine polished alloys wheels.

What's new at the rear is the split combination lamp, with the reverse lamp bit fitted on the door. The licence plate holder appears slightly different as well.

The basic design of the interior has been maintained. What differs are the faux wood door handles, the rectangular dash mounted air-vents, wood and chrome inserts and a redesigned steering wheel.

Colours available will be bronze gray, pearl white, sapphire black, blade silver, fire red and sterling grey. Engine on offer will remain the same as the Duster. The 1.6 liter petrol and two diesel units.
