Nissan Qashqai, Its Hard To Pronounce; Here’s How To Say It
Nissan Qashqai is one of those car names people find hard to pronounce and spell. We are pretty sure that even as you are reading this you are not sure how to pronounce the word. The name is so hard to say that it looks like even Wikipedia has got it wrong.
The name ‘Qashqai' itself belongs to an ancient Iranian nomadic tribe. Much like how Volkswagen named its Touareg SUV after a North African tribe, the Tuareg. In Japan, however, Nissan sells this model under the ‘Dualis' name. The same is the case in Australia, because Nissan was worried it would pick up the same "cash cow".
So, it seems Nissan is well aware of this problem and recently decided to do something about it. No, it won't change the name. Instead, it will try to teach people how to say out loud the name of their people carrier. If you don't have the time to watch how Nissan managed to teach people to say the name, this is how it is said. Cash-kai.
