Nissan PlayStation GT Academy: Mumbai Leads Leaderboard
Nissan's hunt for motor racing talent in India through its internationally acclaimed PlayStation GT Academy program has been going on for a few weeks now in Mumbai & Delhi, with participants from the former city topping the leaderboard.
The top five lap times as of this writing are as follows:
1. Martin Karkade - Mumbai - 01:59:357
2. Saminder Singh Saan - Mumbai - 02:03:311
3. Parth Patel - Mumbai - 02:04:547
4. Bharat Dilip Gopal - Mumbai - 02:04:949
5. Abhinav Bhatt - Delhi - 02:05:468
Started for the first time ever in India, in February, Nissan PlayStation GT Academy is a competition where participants try to set fastest lap times in Gran Turismo 6 motor racing video game.
Over 2000 participants have tried their hands since launch in Delhi and Mumbai. GT Academy will arrive in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore by June 2014.
Dates for upcoming GT Academy live events
1. April 17-20, 2014: Inorbit Mall, Hyderabad
2. May 15-18, 2014: Mantri Mall, Bengaluru
3. June 5-8, 2014: Express Avenue Mall, Royapettah, Chennai
Once the qualifying rounds in all cities are completed players who have set the quickest 14 lap times in live events will be joined by another 14 players from online qualifying rounds to participate in the National Finals.
Six best-of-the-best from the total 28 finalists will be shortlisted to take part in the International Race Camp at Silverstone in the United Kingdom in actual race cars.
