Nissan Confirms Nismo Edition GT-R

Nissan already offers Nismo editions of its other models such as the Juke and 370Z. The only Nissan model that was missing from the Nismo line-up was the company's flagship model, the GT-R.
The announcement was made by Nissan CEO, Carlos Ghosn during a press event at Nismo's headquarters in Japan. Mr Ghosn said, "It would be unthinkable for us to develop a range of Nismo road cars without including the GT-R. The standard road car is a global supercar and the GT-R's performance on track reflects the passion and talents of the Nismo team. The GT-R Nismo will be special and I can't wait to drive it."
It would be not totally true if we were to say a Nismo version of the GT-R is not available because Nissan does offer the Nismo GT-R GT3. But that is a GT race specification car, which is naturally, very expensive. A regular road going version of the Nismo GT-R on the other hand, will cost a lot less and will be based on the 2013 model year GT-R.
Shoichi Miyatani, president of Nismo said, "We know that enthusiasts around the world will be itching to know more about the forthcoming GT-R Nismo." He added, "It's too preliminary to share any details yet, but fans can be certain we'll be applying all of our motorsport expertise to creating a GT-R Nismo worthy of the name."
