Honda CR-V Launched In India At 19.95 Lakhs
Honda, the Japanese carmaker, has launched the much awaited new CR-V in India with a starting price of INR 19.95 lakhs. The new Honda CR-V will for the first time be assembled in India helping in keeping the price of the premium MPV very close to its competitors.
Looking in to the design if the new Honda CR-V, it gets a new front grille along with headlights. Honda has replaced the old tail lamps with new sharp wrap around ones. The new Honda CR-V's wheel base is 2620MM despite being shorter than the previous version by 30mm.
The New Honda CR-V has a restyled interior too. The dashboard and steering wheel are brand new. The steering now gets audio and cruise control buttons on it. Honda has also added a multi information display as standard equipment across all variants. IN terms of the infotainment system, DVD, USB, iPod connectivity and reverse camera are standard in entry level variants while the top end variants also get Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation.
Honda has disappointed Indian CR-V fans by not launching the MPV with a diesel engine. The new Honda CR-V continues to be powered by the same petrol engines which we have seen in the previous version. However, Honda has tweaked the two-litre and 2.4-litre engine to deliver more power. Honda has already launched a diesel powered CR-V in Europe.
The two-litre engine can now deliver 156PS of power and will come with a choice of a five speed automatic gearbox and a six-speed manual. The more powerful 2.4-litre engine can deliver 190PS of power while the torque figure is pegged at 226Nm. This engine will be available with a four speed automatic and a five speed manual gear box.
Honda has said the 2.0-litre CRV can deliver a mileage of 13.7kmpl and the 2.4-litre version's mileage is 12kmpl.
