Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Automatic India Launch In August
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, the entry level SUV offered by the Japanese automaker, will receive an automatic transmission equipped variant in India.
Mitsubishi has confirmed it will launch the automatic variant of the Pajero Sport in August, with deliveries set to begin by September.
At present, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is only offered in one variant. This variant comes equipped with a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo diesel engine that delivers 178 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 2000-2500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Automatic variant is expected to equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission, coupled to the same 2.5-litre diesel engine. In terms of features, the automatic variant of the Pajero will be more premium, with additional equipments.
Expect Mitsubishi Pajero Sport automatic to cost at least INR 1 lakh more than the manual variant, which comes at a starting price of INR 24.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The automatic Pajero Sport will be competing against the likes of the Santa Fe 4x4 2.2-litre automatic (INR 27,89 lakh), Ford Endeavour 4x4 3.0-litre automatic (INR 23.06 lakh), Toyota Fortuner 3.0-litre 4x4 automatic (INR 23.41 lakh) and Chevrolet Captiva 4x4 automatic (INR 25.83 lakh).
