Mercedes C-Class Grand Edition Celebrates 50,000th Car Built In India
Mercedes-Benz today rolled out the 50,000th vehicle, a C-Class, from its Chakan manufacturing facility becoming the only foreign luxury car manufacturer in the country to do so. To celebrate reaching this milestone the German automaker launched the C-Class Grand Edition.
What will be the last special edition model based on the current generation of C-Class offered in India, (the 2014 C-Class revealed in Detroit earlier will replace it soon) the Grand Edition offers a multitude of high-end and AMG features.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Grand Edition wears an AMG body kit which includes front and rear aprons, side sills and 17-inch alloy wheels sporting AMG hub caps. There's also a ‘Grand Edition' badge on the wings with chromed tailpipe trims and intelligent light system with bi-xenon headlamps.

Mercedes has equipped the C-Class Grand Edition's interior with an exclusive brushed aluminium trim and offers features such as the 11.4cm multi-function colour display that now comes with satellite navigation. The system is loaded with 7.9 million key points including Mercedes service centers, tourists spots, restaurants and more. Lastly, there's a new panoramic sunroof.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Grand Edition remains mechanically unchanged and comes with the same petrol and diesel engines. The C 220 CDI is powered by the 167bhp, 400 Nm 2,143cc turbo-diesel engine and the the C 200 CGI that runs on the 186bhp, 285 Nm 1,796cc four-cylinder petrol unit.
The C-Class Grand Edition 220 CDI is priced at INR 39.16 lakh while the C 200 CGI has a price tag of INR 36.81 lakhs (both prices, ex-showroom, Pune).
