Mercedes E-Class Facelift Launched; Price Rs 41.4L
The next gen Mercedes Benz E Class has been launched in India with a starting price of INR 41.4 lakhs for the E200 petrol model. The E Class facelift will be available in two other variants, the E250 CDI diesel for INR 44.8 lakhs and a limited edition of the diesel, of which only 100 units will be sold, for INR 49.90 lakhs.
Mercedes Benz E Class facelift brings extensive changes over the outgoing model. You will immediately notice the new face, characterized by the daytime running LED studded single segment headlamps, instead of the split ones from the older model. The large three pointed star logo, part of the new Merc design philosophy, sits inside a restyled and modern looking front grille, which continues from the reprofiled bonnet. The front bumper, following the new design philosophy, flows continuously to join the fog lamp cavity, which no longer holds a fog lamp.
The interior offers plenty of refreshing changes as well. Nappa leather upholstery, sporty steering wheel, redesigned infotainment display with the new COMAND system, a new center console, redesigned dials and air-con outlets among others are few of the changes.
Features that will be standard in the limited edition are panoramic roof, larger rear tyres and the new illuminated three star logo, which glows when the car is parked.
Finally, coming to the internal hardware. The petrol version comes with the 2.0 liter four cylinder direct injection unit, rated at 184 HP-300 Nm and the diesel version has the 2.1 liter four cylinder, delivering 204 HP-500 Nm. Both engines will be provided with the 7G-tronic automatic transmission.
