Mercedes A-Class India Launch Date Confirmed

We all knew that Mercedes will be completing its range of cars in India by launching its cheapest and smallest car, the A-Class. What we did not know was that the Mercedes A-Class will be launched in India in May 2013 itself.

Mercedes-Benz India will be launching the A200 CDI in India. The A200 CDI as the name specifies is powered by a 1.8-litre diesel engine capable of delivering peak power of 134bhp. The engine is mated to a seven speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The Mercedes A-Class will be initially sold in India through the CBU route. Mercedes-Benz will assemble the car in India once it picks up volumes. The A-Class and the recently launched B-Class sports tourer are two car that Mercedes-Benz India is banking heavily on to increase market share in the premium car segment.

The Mercedes A-Class' price in India is the most important factor for the German carmaker to achieve its sales targets. The A-Class price will be approximately around the INR16-18 lakh mark.

As you can see in the image below, the A-Class is compact hatchback with all the stylish features of a Mercedes. It will be equipped with alloy wheels, aggressive front grille, stylish bumpers, LED running lights and many more. The interior of the A-Class has also been tastefully built with top quality materials. There is an equal mix of luxury and sportiness in the interior.
