Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Launch Date Confirmed; SX-4 Discontinued
Production of Maruti Suzuki SX-4 sedan has been stopped. That's as per a report on IE. Citing sources, the newspaper says that the replacement model for the SX-4 will arrive on time for the festive season.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, which will take the place of the SX-4 will arrive sometime between July and September. The Ciaz was showcased as a concept first in Delhi in February and more recently, in a more production ready form, at the Beijing Motor Show. Since then the production version of the car has been spied in China.

Maruti-Suzuki has reportedly completed trial production of the Ciaz at its Manesar manufacturing facility. The Ciaz is not has a generally larger dimensions, it will also be more premium than the outgoing SX-4. This will help it compete effectively with rivals such as VW Vento, Fiat Linea, Hyundai Verna and especially the segment leader Honda City.
The Ciaz is expected to be offered with the option of a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine and a 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine. A larger 1.6-litre petrol unit could also be provided at a later point in time.
Maruti Suzuki SX-4 sedan was launched in India in 2007. The car was priced at priced between INR 7.14 lakh and INR 9.53 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It was the most expensive model on offer by the Indian manufacturer, other than the imported Kizashi and Grand Vitara SUV models.
