Maruti Ciaz To Offer Rear Passenger Comfort; Festive Season Launch
Maruti Suzuki might be the leader among four-wheeler manufacturers in India, but the company only enjoys success in the entry level car segment. When it comes to higher end cars, Maruti has a negligible presence.
This is because of the way buyers perceive the brand, which has gained the image of a budget car maker and not that of a premium one. Maruti to try to break out of this mould with the launch of the Ciaz.

The Maruti SX-4 replacement is expected to arrive in India in time for the festive season buying frenzy, sometime between July and September. However, the Ciaz will differ from the SX-4 by a large margin in terms of premiumness.
Maruti Ciaz has been developed keeping in mind rear passenger comfort. The suspension settings have been tuned to provide the rear occupant a comfortable ride, while it's long 4545mm length translates to plenty of leg room.
Maruti is also said to have given the Ciaz a European luxury car-like cabin design.

As was already know, the Ciaz will not carry the now popular AMT transmission and will instead be equipped with proper CVT automatic transmission, like the one found in the Honda City.
The Ciaz is expected to be offered with the option of a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine and a 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine. A larger 1.6-litre petrol unit could also be provided at a later point in time.
