Maruti Celerio Booking Period Extends To 6 Months
Maruti has done it again with the Celerio. At a time when car sales are declining and discounts are being offered on most models, including on those sold by Maruti Suzuki itself, the company has come out with the Celerio that's defying all odds, selling better than anyone expected.
Not only has the Celerio received over 30,000 bookings, which grows everyday, it is best selling automatic car in India's history, that has managed to outsell even the manual variant.

The extreme enthusiasm shown by buyers has now resulted in a waiting period of three months for the manual and up to 6 months for the automatic manual (AMT) variant of the Celerio. The last time we heard of such long waiting periods was when Ford launched the EcoSport.
Its not just the AMT variant that's making all the waves though. Even the top of the line ZXi trim that's only offered with a five speed manual transmission is seeing good demand, which is usually not the case with high end variants.
For about INR 5 lakhs on-road, the Celerio ZXi offers a host of safety and convenience features such as ABS, front airbags, central locking, steering wheel mounted audio controls, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear window wipers etc,.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio is powered by a 1.0 litre K-Next engine, rated at 69 PS power and 90 Nm of torque. The engine delivers a mileage 23.1 kmpl under standard test conditions, which is the same for the manual and AMT gearbox and has customers coming in droves to Maruti showrooms.
