Mahindra Launches Automatic Gearbox For XUV500 W6 FWD Variant

Mahindra is introducing automatic gearbox for XUV500 W6 FWD (Front Wheel Drive) variant and the price of the W6 AT is Rs. 14.29 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai). You can book your XUV500 W6 AT across Mahindra Dealerships with immediate effect.

As of now, the AT (Automatic Transmission) was available in the top of the variants of XUV500 - W8 and W10. Now, Mahindra has introduced is the W6 variant as well. The Mahindra XUV500 is powered by 2.2-litre diesel engine, which develops 140bhp at 3750rpm and 330Nm of torque peaking at 2800rpm which is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Speaking on the introduction of Automatic Transmission in the XUV500 W6 FWD variant, Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd. said, "The Automatic Transmission of the New Age XUV500 has resonated very well with our customers since we launched it in November 2015. I am sure that the availability of the Automatic Transmission across variants and a range of price points will now render this technology more accessible to a larger base of customers and make the XUV500 a more attractive proposition amongst a wide spectrum of buyers."

Previously, customers had the option of an automatic variant in XUV500's W8 and W10 only, now it comes in the W6 FWD as well. The W8 AT FWD is priced at Rs. 15.88 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai), so the W6 FWD is nearly Rs. 1.6 lakh lesser.

The Mahindra XUV500 comes in six variants - W4, W6, W8, W8 AT, W10, and W10 AT. The All Wheel Drive is optional for W8 and W10 and this will not be an option in the newly launched W6 AT.
