Jeep Renegade Images Leaked Ahead Of Geneva Reveal
This here folks is the first leaked images of the upcoming compact SUV from Jeep. It's reportedly called the Renegade and will be seen for the first time on the show floor in Geneva.
Though Jeep Renegade clearly looks like a compact off-roader, it will be a rival to soft off-roaders or crossovers such as the Nissan Juke. Jeep Renegade will also be the model that will provide many customers an easy entry into the Jeep brand in emerging markets such as India.
Both the upcoming Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X crossover are built on the same platform, the new Fiat-Chrysler group's Small Wide platform architecture.
According to Jalopnik, which is also the source of these leaked shots, the Renegade is trail rated, which means this vehicle is a full-fledged off-roader.
Jeep Renegade's boxy design & compact size may not be to everyone's liking, but the trademark front grille design, the flared wheel arches, raised ride height leave no doubt that this is a classic Jeep. Also notice the twin ‘sky roofs'.
Though there's no official confirmation, Jeep Renegade is also likely to get Fiat's 1.4 liter turbo petrol, the 1.3 liter turbo diesel and perhaps even the 0.9 liter TwinAir turbo petrol engine.
Jeep Renegade will be launched in 2015.
