Hyundai i20 Active To Launch On 17th March In India
South-Korean automobile manufacturer will be launching its i20 Active in India. The crossover will be make its global debut on 17th March, 2015. It will be followed by regional launches thereafter. This vehicle has been spied several times on Indian roads and will be finally launched.
Hyundai recently updated its i20 hatchback in India by redesigning and rechristening it as Elite i20. The i20 Active is based on its hatchback, however, it now has achieved the status of crossover due to significant changes.
The manufacturer, however, will not provide its i20 Active with new engines. These crossover will be powered by similar engines that do duty in their hatchbacks. Both petrol and diesel engine will be available and no inclusion of automatic transmissions is also expected.
The i20 Active has been designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany. designers have modified the exterior of its crossover to give it a more rugged look. Most obvious changes are the plastic side claddings, roof rails, skid plates in the front and rear, along with new bumpers and alloy wheels.
Hyundai i20 Active will have to compete with Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat's Avventura. All these models, where previously hatchback and have been converted into crossovers for a more rugged use. We expect the South-Korean manufacturer will price its crossover between INR 7,00,000 to 12,50,000 ex-showroom.
