Hyundai Eon With 1.0-litre Engine To Be Introduced
Hyundai Eon, the smallest, entry level hatchback offered by the Korean car maker is rumoured to receive a significant upgrade in the form of a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The Eon is currently powered by a 0.8-litre, three-cylinder engine rated at 55 bhp and 75 Nm of torque.
The 1.0-litre engine is expected to be the same three-cylinder unit that's found in the Euro-spec Hyundai i10 which develops 65 bhp and 95 nm of torque. The Indian version would deliver a little less power and better fuel efficiency.

The 2014 Hyundai Eon is also likely to receive minor changes to design at the front, but would remain unchanged for the most part.
While Hyundai Eon would likely win a design contest with its chief rivals, - Maruti Alto K10 and Datsun GO - the car is currently the least powerful among the three.
For comparison, Maruti Alto K10 is powered by a 1.0 litre, three-cylinder engine, rated at 67 bhp at 6200 rpm and 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. Datsun GO, meanwhile, is the most powerful of the lot since the engine is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that develops 67 bhp at 5000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
2014 Hyundai Eon with a 1.0-litre engine would have a much better chance of taking on and winning against its rivals.
