Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre Engine Introduced; Bookings Open
As per earlier reports, Hyundai has indeed introduced a 1.0-litre engine in the Eon hatchback lineup. The small car was earlier available only with a 0.8-litre MPi engine, rated at 56 horsepower and 74 Nm of torque.
The new Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre engine is suspected to be the same unit that's found in the Hyundai i10 in Europe. This engine delivers 65 bhp and 95 Nm of torque, thus better enabling the Eon to compete with the Maruti Alto K10 and Datson GO on a level playing field. The Alto K10 and Datsun GO are offered with 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre engines respectively.

Hyundai dealers have started accepting bookings for the Hyundai Eon 1.0-litre Magna, which is priced at INR 3.85 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). Deliveries are expected to begin from next month.
