Hybrid Air - Car That Runs On Air
Carmakers are always under pressure to develop an innovative product that will capture the imagination of the buyer. While some aim at developing a beautiful product, others look at performance, speed or luxury. Here is one car that is being developed to deliver a mileage that is mostly seen in a motorcycle.
French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen is developing a hybrid car that runs on both petrol and compressed air. Simply named as Hybrid Air, PSA has said this car could deliver a mileage of 50kmpl. The Hybrid Air has some interesting features that will help in greatly reducing the mileage of a car. Still in a concept stage, the Hybrid Air can spawn more fuel efficient vehicles in the future.

The Hybrid Air has a small petrol engine and a cylinders to store compressed air. It can run powered by either of them or both depending on the demand of the driver.

Hybrid Air will run only on compressed air until speeds of 70kmph and will switch to petrol power at higher speeds.
