Hennessey Venom GT: 0 - 300 Kph World Record

The next time you are asked which is the fastest production car to notch up 0 to 300 kilometers per hour? The answer to that question unfolds below.

Guinness World Records has certified that the Hennessey 1,244 horsepower Venom GT is the worlds fastest production car to do 0 to 300 kilometers per hour. This record attempt was carried out on January 10th at Ellington Airport near Houston, Texas. The certified time is 13.63 seconds which is actually the average of two separate runs down. On the first run the Hennessey Venom GT clocked 13.18 seconds with a 4-mile-per-hour tailwind and in the second run clocked 14.08 seconds with a 6-mph headwind.

For the record the Hennessey Venom GT managed 200 mph in 14.51 seconds, however Guinness only recognizes record attempts done in kilometers per hour. If you are wondering what about the Koenigsegg Agera R and the 1,200-hp Bugatti Veyron Sport? They have simply lost the race to 300 kilometers per hour. No wonder Steven Tylor from Aerosmith owns the Venom GT!

The Hennessey Venom GT is a sports carmanufactured by Hennessey Performance Engineering, the American Tuning housespecializing in modifying sports and super cars from several brands like Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Dodge, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Nissan and Lexus.

This door 2 roadster is powered by by a Twin Turbocharged 7.0 L (430 cu in) V8 engine.Hennessey claims that the car can achieve a top speed of 272 mph (437 km/h), although this speed has not been tested in real world conditions.
