GM India Provides Women Employees SAFER Device
General Motors India is focussed on employee safety, especially safety of women. Now to further its commitment to safety towards women, they have introduced 'SAFER'. The American-based automobile manufacturer has provided a safety device for all of its women employees.
The SAFER device is developed by a smart jewellery startup called 'Leaf Wearable'. At the push of a button on the device, their loved and dear ones will be notified. The device is assisted by a smartphone that will need to be carried by the women wearing the SAFER device.
SAFER smartphone application is available on the Apple App Store and Google Pay Store. The location will be tracked via smartphone and device. The device is in the form of a pendant with an inbuilt panic button which has to be synced with the mobile at all times.
The training session was conducted for all GM women employees across India. SAFER device was provided to all women employees from Talegaon, Halol, Gurugram, and Bengaluru. The usage of the device was also demonstrated to all women employees.
