Chrysler Models To Be Made In India; 4 New Products By 2016
Fiat Group Automobiles India (FGAIPL), the wholly-owned subsidiary of the newly formed Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, has announced that it will launch 9 new models by the year 2016. Of these four will belong to the Chrysler brand.
The first two launches will happen under the Fiat brand. These will be the Avventura, the Punto based crossover, and the Abarth 500, the performance oriented Fiat 500 hatchback.

Following the launch of these two Fiat models will come the first two Chryslers, the long delayed Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. Naturally, Chrysler branded vehicles will all cater to the premium four wheeler segment.

Fiat has not yet decided which will be the other two Chrysler models it will launch in India, but they will make it here before the end of 2016.
The new Chrysler models will be initially introduced as completely-built units (CBU), following which manufacturing will be localised, depending on demand.

FT also reports that before the end of 2014 five new launches will take place from FGAIPL. It is not yet clear which the fifth new model will be.
Even as Fiat is working on increasing its customer touch points in India, it has been confirmed that Chrysler badged products will be sold through separate dealerships.
