Ford Classic Price Dropped To Make It More Attractive

Ford has dropped the price of its Classic sedan model once again. The full sized sedan is now has a starting price of INR 4.88 lakh before taxes in Delhi. That slots it in the same price range as new sub-4 meter compact sedans.

The now old-in-the-tooth sedan is actually the previous generation Ford Fiesta that the company has retained in the market and has been offering it at discounted prices. Sales of the car, however, have not been great, hence the latest price cut.

If you ignore the fact that the Ford Classic is an old model, with an outdated design, this sedan actually offers good value for money. Not to mention, it still remains the one of the most engaging cars to drive.

To give you an idea, it has a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 11.43 seconds, making it the quickest car in this price range.

Ford Classic: Engine

Ford Classic comes with two engine options - The 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder Duratec petrol engine with 101 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 146 Nm torque at 3400 rpm, and the 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder Duratorq diesel engine producing 68 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 160 Nm torque at 2000 rpm.

Transmission offered is a 5-speed manual across all variants. There is no option for an automatic gearbox.

Ford Classic: Mileage

The ARAI certified fuel economy figure for the Classic petrol and diesel are 14.09 kpl and 19.68 kpl respectively.

Ford Classic: Features

The base variant of the Classic, priced under INR 5 lakh, offers a few decent standard features including central locking, dual rear fog lamps, fuel cut-off inertia switch, AC, front and rear power windows, power steering with tilt adjustment, electric boot release etc,.
