BMW 1 Series India Launch This Year
BMW India will not let Mercedes-Benz India have an easy time. Mercedes only recently confirmed it would launch three new cars in the country by the end of June. This includes the diesel variant of the B-Class and both diesel and petrol variants of the A-Class.
BMW India President, Philipp von Sahr has confirmed the company will launch the 1-Series in India in September, a premium hatchback that falls in the same segment as the the Mercedes Benz A-Class. Like the rest of BMW India lineup, the 1-Series will be assembled in the company's Chennai plant. The BMW 1-Series will be available in both 4 cylinder petrol and diesel variants and will be the automaker's new entry level car in the country, with an expected starting price ranging between INR 18 - 20 lakhs.
