Specific details about the hybrid powertrain have not been revealed. Bentley only says that it will offer 25 percent more power with 70 percent less CO2 emission, at 118 g/km.

Bentley also claims the hybrid powertrain can allow the car to cover 50 km on electric power alone.

The petrol engine part of the powertrain is the 6.75-litre V8 that produces 505 bhp. An additional electric power of about 126 hp would take the final power output to about 631 bhp.

Bentley CEO Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber said that by 2020 at least 90 percent of all their products will be powered by plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The car gets design highlights done in copper, inside and out. Right from the headlamps, radiator shell bezel, brake calipers, feature line details to badges.

The interior receives copper accents, with inserts to the hand-crafted veneers fascias, switch bezels and instruments. Copper cross-stitching also appears on the the Mulliner Driving Specification diamond-quilted interior.

Bentley Mulsanne Hybrid concept will make its public debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.

The hybrid powertrain from this study will power the production hybrid SUV from Bentley in 2017.
