Audi Q3 S Launched; Price Starts Rs 24.99 Lakhs
The least expensive Audi is now official. The low cost edition Audi Q3, dubbed Audi Q3 S can now be yours for just INR 24.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). That's about INR 10 lakhs less than the regular Audi Q3.
The cost cutting comes at a price of course. That price is several key missing features. On the other hand, Audi now has a product in the same range as the upcoming BMW 1 Series and Mercedes Benz A Class and B Class.

First and foremost, Audi Q3 S is powered by a smaller, 2.0 liter TDI turbo diesel engine, rated at 140 HP and 320 Nm of torque. What's more, Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system aided by the dual clutch 7 speed automatic transmission have been replaced. With the Q3 S you only get a 6 speed manual delivering power to the front wheels.
In its pursuit to make the Q3 easier to afford the crossover has been stripped off previous standard features such as front passenger seat, seat memory, daytime running lights, xenon headlamps, satellite navigation, sunroof and reverse camera.

The available features are not bad though. These include 6 airbags, electronic stabilization program (ESP), cruise control, rear parking sensors, an infotainment system, with voice activated commands system. The first 10 online bookings will also receive an "Off-road Style Package" for free.

Also to be kept in mind is that the Audi Q3 weighs 140 kg less, which, along with the absence of the all wheel drive system, should improve fuel economy significantly. All these, in addition to local manufacturing means many more people will be able to afford a car with the four interlinked rings logo.
