Exclusive: 2013 Audi R8 Launching In India
Audi has been propelled in to the territory dominated by Porsches and Ferraris thanks to its flagship R8 super car. Launched nearly five years ago, the R8 is one of the best looking Audi cars ever. Audi has improved upon the features of the R8 and is all set to launch the 2013 version in India today.
The 2013 Audi R8 does not look very different from its predecessor. Audi has done the right thing as the R8 is a pretty beautiful car. Most of the updates are only technical and do not change the looks of the car.
The 2013 Audi R8 gets the sophisticated LED headlights along with a slightly different turn indicators on the rear. The front bumper gets a minute scissor job with three horizontal air inlets instead of the two that were seen in the previous R8.
The 2013 R8 is now lighter thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre. The mirrors, side blades and lateral air inlets arr all now built using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CRPF).
Looking in to the technical aspects of the 2013 Audi R8, the German carmaker has retained the 4.2-litre V8 and the 5.2-litre V10 engines. The manual gearbox used in the previous R8 has been replaced by a faster 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. The R8 V10 can now sprint to 100kmph from rest in just under 4 seconds. The new R8 can reach a top speed an impressive 314kmph.
