Honda FCEV Concept Teased Ahead Of LA Auto Show Reveal
[Update: Honda FCEV Revealed In Tokyo] Honda has teased its next generation Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) concept ahead of its reveal at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 20. The FCEV concept reach production stage in 2015 and is considered to be the likely replacement to the hydrogen powered FCX Clarity.
"The Honda FCEV Concept demonstrates the company's vision for the future of personal mobility and our commitment to developing advanced alternative fuel vehicles," said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "As we work toward the introduction of our next-generation fuel-cell vehicle in 2015, our long-term experience with fuel-cell technologies will help us pave a way towards a zero-emissions future."

Apart from the colourful teaser image no other details about the FCEV concept has been released yet. The teaser reveals a futuristic design that carries Honda's "Exciting H Design" language. The concept is meant to showcase a future design possibility and the production version of a fuel cell powered Honda is likely to look a lot more down to earth.
Honda, a world leader in the field of hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles, was the first company to lease fuel cell electric vehicles in 2002 to fleet customers. In 2005 the first fuel cell electric car was handed over to individuals. As of now over two dozen FCX Clarity hydrogen vehicles ply the roads.
