World's Most Expensive Ferrari GTO Sold At $35 M

The Ferrari 250 GTO originally made for UK racing driver Stirling Moss which features a distinctive apple-green colour is one of 39 GTOs produced from 1962 to 1964. The car has been listed among high-end sales in a website for classic car dealers - anamera.com for the month of May.
The car was sold by a Dutch-born businessman, Eric Heerema to a US based car collector named Craig McCaw. The seller, Eric is the owner of the Nyetimber vineyard in Sussex, while the Seattle based wealthy buyer McCaw was the co-founder of McCaw Cellular, which was acquired by US telecommunications giant AT&T for $11.5 billion in 1993. However, both the seller and the buyer were not available for comments on the costliest car.
An acquisition consultant for a Ferrari dealer in UK said: "The market is very active at the moment. A lot of new buyers are expanding their collections and the baby-boomer generation of collectors has reached an age when they're not using their cars as much as they used to. They want to sell."
