Are the Rich Escaping From Tinted Film Ban?

Sun Film
The Supreme Court of India had banned the use of tinted glass in cars on April 27th. Police immediately started implementing the new rule and car users from across the country rushed to remove tinted glasses from their cars before the deadline. But have all people removed tinted glasses from their cars?

This question has now been raised by the Supreme Court too. In a recent hearing on a case filed by sun film manufacturers, the Supreme Court has noted that there are still several cars that have tinted windows. It added that rich car owners and VIPs had not followed the court's directive on tinted windows. The court has also added that it was only the middle class people who were suffering.

The use of tinted glass has been banned. But many cars, particularly the ones owned by VIPs continue to have them. The use of tinted windows has been termed illegal and yet police continue to ignore them. The fact that high placed individuals are able to escape from these rules while the middle class complies to them is saddening.

The Supreme court made some scathing remarks about VIPs making use of loop holes in the rules regarding the security cover provided to them to avoid removing tinted windows. It went on to say such people were escaping after being involved in road accidents.

There was a mad rush to remove tinted glasses in cars soon after the Supreme Court's ruling. However, no authorities have checked if the ban has been fully enforced. Traffic police are only checking the vehicles that they find on the road but does this really help?
