Nissan Registers 98 Per Cent Growth; Sunny Shines
Nissan Motor India Managing Director Ishida Takayuki said: “Despite the fact that the auto industry in India has been going through some uncertainty in view of the recent fuel price hike and general economic growth, our sales have remained strong. This performance has been underpinned by the strength and diversity of our model range. It will further expand with the launch of Evalia later in the year.”
The company added that the Sunny sedan which was launched last year was the major contributor to the companies rocking sales. The sedan that has been highly appreciated for its huge cabin space and comfortable ride is being built at Nissan's manufacturing facility in Chennai.
To add proof to its volume sales, 18,751 Sunny cars were sold till date since its launch in September last year. It is the diesel model which was launched shortly after the petrol variant that is doing wonders for the carmaker.
The diesel variant of the Sunny is available at a starting price of Rs 8.2 lakhs. The running cost of the Sunny diesel will be very low considering an excellent fuel economy of 21.62kmpl .
