Nissan India has charted out their plan for the coming few years. The company has noticed that their market share is very low at just 1.5 percent compared to their competitors. Nissan has been operational in India for the past 7 years and the company has rolled out new cars and upgrades over these years. The Big question, Is it enough?

Nissan is working behind close doors and are planning to roll-out 10 new products by 2016. What are your thoughts on Nissan's growth in India?

Nissan's best seller has been the Sunny and Micra so far. However, competitors and Partner Renault have increased their market share with better products. Take for example Renault whose market share took a leap with the introduction of the Renault Duster.

We believe one of the product range in the coming years will be the revival of the Datsun brand by Nissan. The Japanese manufacturer will aim at targeting the small car segment with their cheap and affordable Datsun brand cars. The Datsun brand of cars will be positioned below the Nissan models. Currently Nissan market share is at 1.5% and the company is looking to increase this to 8% by 2016.

The last big launch from Nissan, was the Evalia. Click here to read more on the Nissan Evalia road test review from our end. We believe, Nissan India has to work strongly on their dealership network, which is currently around 75 dealers in India. If Nissan is looking to take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, the Japanese manufacturer certainly needs to have a clear cut picture of their Indian journey. Do you like Nissan cars and do you have any suggestions for Nissan India?
