BMW Launches New 3-Series At INR 28.9 L
The new BMW 3-Series will be unveiled by Indian cricket great Sachin Tendulkar in Mumbai today. The new 3-series is priced between INR 28.90 lakh and 37.90 lakh. The sixth generation BMW 3-series will be built as a CKD in Chennai and deliveries are expected to begin this month itself.
The new entry level sedan from BMW is the most important launch for the carmaker this year. The German carmaker has stated that despite slow sales in the first half of this year, the second half of 2012 will belong to BMW thanks to the new 3-Series.
The new 3-Series, according to BMW will continue the tradition of being the best driving sedan among the D-segment sedans. Speaking about the new car, BMW Group India President Dr Andreas Schaaf said, "The all new BMW 3-Series is a vehicle that has an unbeatable profile and is born from pioneering technology, a beautiful design and a lot of passion. In addition to the powerful performance and increased efficiency, the all new BMW 3 Series offers unparalleled comfort and space."
The new BMW 3-series will be available in five variants, with four of them being powered by a diesel engine. There is only one petrol powered new 3-Series which is the 328i Sport Line. The German carmaker has intelligently launched four diesel variants of the new 3-Series considering the huge demand for diesel cars in India.
The all new BMW 3-Series is avaiable in a diesel (BMW320d) and petrol variant (BMW 328i).

As you would have noticed from the above list, the new BMW 3-Series is available in two design schemes - the Sport Line and Luxury Line. BMW has stated that the Sport Line offers sporty styling and interiors while the Luxury line delivers luxurious and stylish features.
