Mini Opens 1st Showroom In Delhi; 2nd In India

Iconic British Brand Mini has inaugurated its first showroom in Delhi's Vasnt Kunj area. The BMW owned premium brand has appointed Delhi's Bird Automotive as the authorised dealers for the company.

The dealership which is spread over 5,000 square feet across two floors will offer the most sought after Mini range of cars such as the the MINI hatch, MINI Convertible and MINI Countryman. BMW had introduced the Mini brand in India at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and this is the carmakers second showroom in the country after Mumbai's Infiniti Cars.

Speaking at the occasion, BMW India President Dr. Andreas Schaaf said: "With the launch of Bird Automotive, we have brought MINI - the world's most exciting premium small car brand to Delhi. MINI is more than just a car - it is a personality on wheels - a fashion statement - and a way of life. At MINI, the fun never stops. So it is only natural that Delhi with its wonderful amalgamation of trends and tradition, fun and style and enduring spirit offers a perfect setting to the world's most emotional auto brand."

A joyful Bird Automotive managing director Gaurav Bhatia said: "We have been working with the BMW Group India since 2007 and this association has been very successful and tremendously exciting. We look forward to an enthusiastic response from our customers for the charismatic and exciting Mini."

The Mini models will be available as Completely Built-Up units in India with the cars being imported from UK and Australia respectively. Mini models have been popular worldwide for its funky design, premium quality, cutting edge technology and Go-cart handling. However, the entry-level car from the iconic brand - Mini Cooper will set you back by Rs 25-30 lakhs.

Meanwhile, the company had recently introduced MINI financial services which will function as a separate unit under BMW financial services. The service will offer finance and insurance options apart from a comprehensive insurance package making car purchase smooth for customers. Interestingly, Mini has sold 50 cars in the country since it started deliveries last month.
