Maruti Suzuki To Add Workforce;1,900 Jobs On Offer

Maruti Suzuki Chief Operating Officer (administration) S Y Siddiqui said: "We have already hired around 200 employees so far this fiscal and the plan is to hire 900 personnel on the engineering and management side apart from around 1,000 technicians on the shop-floor, taking the total hiring to around 1,900 this year."
Speaking at function organised by industry body SIAM, Siddiqui revealed Maruti Suzuki's plan to launch a web-based training academy with an investment of Rs 25 crore by October, this year. The academy will link the company with its dealers, suppliers and Suzuki group entities in the country.
Siddiqui also commented on the company's new plant in Gujarat saying that the carmaker will hire around 1,600 employees for the 2.5-lakh per annum new facility being set up at an investment of Rs 4,000 crore. This is Maruti Suzuki's third plant in the country after Gurgaon and Manesar manufacturing units. The company owns a market share of around 60% in the country with cars like Alto, Swift and Swift Dzire accounting to majority of the sales.
