Maruti To Hire 1000 New Workers At Manesar

Maruti Suzuki which is currently assessing the amount of damage suffered by the Manesar plant is looking to hire 1,0000 workers within this month. Reports say Maruti wants to fire as many as 500 existing workers. Further it is planning not to have any contract workers at the production line.
This will create a gap of more than 1,000 workers which Maruti Suzuki will fill by hiring new workers. The carmaker is looking to hire apprentices who will be trained by experienced workers. Reports say Maruti Suzuki will bring in some of its experienced workers from the Gurgaon plant.
Maruti Suzuki had shifted some of the Swift's production to Gurgaon last year during the three strikes. Now it has done the opposite by planning to bring in workers from Gurgaon. Police investigation in to the violent incidents has lead to hundreds of workers fleeing from their homes.
Maruti Suzuki is said to be very serious about not hiring any worker who can be a potential trouble monger. The carmaker has said it will not restart production at Manesar unless the law and order situation improves. Maruti Suzuki is definitely rattled by the gruesome murder of its senior executive in the hands of its own workers.
While many people who depend on the Manesar car plant for livelihood had expressed concerns about Maruti closing the plant completely, the news of Maruti Suzuki hiring 1,000 new workers must be cause for jubilation. The Manesar plant not only employs more than 4,000 workers directly but is the reason behind more than one lakh people having jobs in Maruti Suzuki's part suppliers and other concerned companies.
