Lewis Hamilton Tweets Confidential Telemetry Data

Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton has been tagged-off as an aggressive racer. At times his behavior has been debatable. This time out of the pits, Lewis vents out via twitter. The British Formula One Racer, tweeted confidential telemetry of his qualifying lap at Spa, to show a speed comparison to Button. The image of the data showed, Jenson Button was running a low downforce configuration which suited the track better.

The image of the data also provided insights into Mclaren car's performance, such as ride height and speed data. The obvious question is, have the rival teams been able to understand the performance of the MP4-27 Mclaren F1 Car?

Jenson Button has criticized team mate Lewis Hamilton, for revealing confidential data via twitter. "It was the whole telemetry from qualifying. It wasn't just the rear wing. I was very surprised and disappointed," said the 2009 world champion, who added that the matter was also now behind him. "I think it's done now. I don't think it's for me to be angry with Lewis. It's not a personal thing," he said.

Drivespark thinks, Lewis Hamilton needs to get his act together on twitter, keeping in mind Formula 1 teams, guard such data with intense secrecy. Mclaren on the other hand, seem to be brushing of this incident as 'No Damage'.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said, if one of his drivers had carried out such an act, it would have been treated much more seriously. Is Mclaren trying to play down the sensitivity of the information leaked or the data leaked isn't going to be any great use to anyone?
