JLR Posts Lowest Monthly Sales In 9 Months

Tata Owned British luxury brand Jaguar Land Rover recorded its lowest monthly sales in 9 months in the month of April. JLR sales fell 31 per cent in April from March last month.

This is the steepest monthly sales decline since at least November 2009. Jaguar Land Rover sold 25,143 vehicles globally in April 2012.

JLR had recorded strong sales figures after it was acquired by Indian auto giant Tata Motors from Ford in 2008. The Tata Motors Group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were flat at 87,377 nos., in April 2012.

Apart from India, Tata Motors has operations in the UK, South Korea, Thailand, Spain and South Africa. Among them is Jaguar Land Rover, the business comprising the two iconic British brands.
