Hyundai Llaunches New Elantra At Rs.12.51 Lakhs

Hyundai has launched the new Fluidic Elantra sedan with a starting price of Rs. 12.51 lakhs. The new Elantra is a completely different package when compared with the previous Elantra that was being sold here. Hyundai opened bookings of the new Elantra fully confident of its performance in the market.

The Hyundai Elantra is available in both diesel and petrol variants and in seven variants. The petrol Elantra will be powered by a 1.8 litre DOHC engine that generates 149.5PS at 6500rpm and 177Nm at 4700. The diesel variant will get the 1.6-litre CRDI engine with VGT which we have already seen in the new Fluidic Verna.

Hyunda Elantra

As with any diesel engine, the engine has more torque on offer with 259Nm at 2750rpm and power output is 128PS at 4000rpm. Both the engines will be available with a six speed manual gearbox and a six speed automatic.

There are three petrol variants of the Elantra and four diesel variants. The three petrol variants are S, SX MT and SX AT which are common in both petrol and diesel. Here is the detailed price list of the new Hyundai Elantra.

The new Elantra gets Hyundai's patented Fluidic design styling for the exterior. The design is visually pleasing with the flowing lines providing the car a regal look. One cannot miss out the traces of the new Fluidic Verna in the new Elantra's design. The new Hyundai Elantra is available with six exterior paint colours - white, silver, black, red, blue and bronze. The interior colour will be a choice between cocoa black and beige.

The new Elantra will be taking on established sedans such as the Skoda Laura and the Toyota Corolla. With a 2.7 metre wheel base it has more space in the cabin particularly in the rear. The car appears to have been built for some one who likes to be driven in with particular focus on seating comfort. The only problem could be the swooping roof which will mean reduced head room for tall people.

The new Hyundai Elantra is a highly equipped car, particularly the top end variant. The top end variant boasts of an impressive list which includes ESP, six airbags, powered and ventilated seats, dual-zone air conditioning, audio control for rear seat passengers, cruise control, panoramic sun roof, front and rear parking sensors, hill decent control and heated mirrors.
