GM To Expand Product Range With 3 Small Cars

General Motors India is expanding its product range by launching 3 new small cars in India this year. The American carmaker aims at high sales figures with the launch of these new cars.

GM is reportedly planning to withdraw its Aveo UV-A hatchback and Aveo notchback and replace it with the new Sail sedan and hatchback combo. The Sail will be available in both petrol and diesel options. The carmaker will also roll out the Enjoy MPV in the end of the year.

GM India President and MD Lowell Paddock said, "We are looking at dismantling our older products by introducing new cars to bring excitement into the market. We would be targeting the premium hatchback and small sedan market with Sail brand and bring both diesel and petrol offering to cater to larger group of customers."

GM is also giving a mild upgrade to its entry-level Spark compact car with a small cosmetic change and new features. The company had launched the new Cruze sedan with a more refined engine priced at Rs 13.85 lakhs.

Also the new Captiva 2012 soft SUV was launched by the carmaker this week. Let's see if GM could gain huge volume sales with its product range expansion strategy.
