Formula E Series
Formula E Series racing which features racing cars powered by electric energy is looking to come to India. The Buddh International circuit, which plays host to Formula 1 racing is said to play host to Formula E Series by 2014.

A lot of motorsport ventures and racing series are looking to come to India, especially after the major success of Formula 1.

The next big racing series, which will be witnessed at the Buddh International Circuit will be the World Superbike Championship. There are also talks about FIA GT1 World Championship coming to India as well.

The Formula E Series will have 10 teams and 20 drivers. Alejandro Agag, the CEO of Formula E racing series said that India should be a part of the series.

"Formula E are certainly focussing on emerging markets to develop the championship. Establishing a base in India would reflect that strategy. We might look for a local partner in India to work with us to set up the race," Agag, who already supports teams in the GP2 and GP3 series, said.

JPSI, the owners of Buddh International Circuit (BIC) have voiced out their opinion. They said they are open to the idea of hosting such a race.

For the moment nothing has happened officially. However, we have to come terms with the fact that the future will see more such races.

The electric car indeed will play a key role as the most practical way to achieve the goal of more efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles. Be it racing or on the streets - Stay Tuned!
