Daimler Set To Launch Six New Vehicles In India

The Bharath-Benz plant can build as many as 36,000 trucks per year when fully operational. Daimler has invested as much as Rs.4,400 crores in this plant and new products were expected to happen any time this year.
A senior Bharath-Benz official has confirmed that six new vehicles will roll out from the plant this year. Daimler India Commercial Vehicles vice president for marketing and after sales Mr VRV Prasad has stated that the first of the six new models will be launched in September. The new Bharath Benz truck will have a 250 tonne capacity and will be powered by a 230bhp engine.
The other new Bharath Benz trucks in the pipeline are a 25 tonne construction vehicle, a 31 tonne truck and a slightly smaller 12 tonne truck. The company is expecting to build as many as 2,000 commercial vehicles in the next three months.
Bharath-Benz will be competing established truck brands such as Volvo in India. The company is aiming to develop new products that suit India better.
