Tata Displays Safari Storme GS 800 At Def Expo

The Armoured Storme comes with a strengthened chassis and suspension system and enhanced braking to tackle the extra weight it carries. The SUV will also have the body strength to withstand bomb blasts and small artillery.
The carmaker also plans to provide the state-of-art-technology vehicle to VVIPs like state heads and other dignitaries. Besides the Storme, Tata Motors also displayed a row of defence vehicles at the Expo.
The new Safari Storme which was unveiled at the Delhi Moto Expo 2012 earlier this year comes much upgraded from the old Safari. The Safari Storme will be powered by a 2.2L 16-valve common rail (DiCOR) engine (140 PS power; 320 Nm torque) with a variable geometry turbo, mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.
