Maruti Suzuki To Launch Swift In Indonesia

The Maruti Suzuki Swift will have its official debut at the Indonesia International Motor Show to be held in September. The Swift is one of Suzuki's best selling cars across the globe. It was launched in India in 2005 and a updated version was launched last year. The Swift is Maruti Suzuki's hottest selling cars and it has a long waiting list particularly for its diesel variant.
Maruti Suzuki might be planning to export only the petrol variant of the Swift. With the demand for petrol cars to dip further following the massive increase in petrol prices, Maruti Suzuki has made a smart move by planning to export the Swift to Indonesia.
The Swift's Indonesia launch s expected to be followed by other petrol cars too. If the trend towards diesel cars in India continues in its current pace, petrol cars will definitely become a minority within no time and carmakers have to find alternative markets to sell their petrol cars.
The Swift's Indonesia launch is preceded by the Ertiga. The Ertiga has already received a positive response and we expect the Swift to deliver a similar performance. The Indonesia International Motor Show will be an ideal location for the Swift's launch as it is the country's premier auto show and will have visitors from across the country.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by a 1.5-litre VVT engine capable of delivering 100PS of power and a torque of 143Nm. Reports say Maruti Suzuki will launch a total of four new models in Indonesia. Only the Swift has been officially confirmed while the names of the other three cars are not yet available.
