Ford Fiesta Automatic Launched at Rs.8.99 Lakhs
The Powershift Fiesta as it is being called for its dual clutch automatic transmission, is powered by a 1.5-litre Litec Ti-VCT engine that is capable of generating 110bhp and 140Nm of torque. The automatic gearbox in the new Fiesta is lighter and hence aids in having a better mileage. Ford India claims The Powershift Fiesta can deliver a fuel economy of 16.97kmpl which is class leading for an automatic sedan.
Other advantages of the Powershift gearbox is that it is quicker than conventional gearboxes. Shifts are faster and smoother which allows the driver to fully make use of the 110 bhp available from the engine. Further, Ford India has claimed the gearbox will be a hassle free piece of machinery that will not require maintenance for as long as ten years. Thats truly a lofty claim and we have to wait for ten years to be sure.
Ford has also added a fuel sipping functionality to the gear box when you are driving through slow moving traffic. Called as the creep function, you will be able to move slowly without even pressing the accelerator and not much fuel is consumed too.

The Ford Fiesta Powershift will be available in an exclusive Paprika red colour. The automatic Fiesta will be available in two variants, the Style, which is priced at Rs.8.99 Lakhs and the Titanium priced at Rs.9.7 lakhs. Ford India has said bookings for the new car are open from this very moment and test cars will be available at Ford showrooms.
