New Skoda Superb Low Cost Variant Expected By Dec

The move could be seen as a part of Skoda's recent strategy to reduce car prices and increase sales. Skoda had launched the affordable Rapid sedan and added a low cost Fabia variant. The Superb will be competing with the likes of Honda Accord in the Indian market, but the fact that Honda doesn't have a diesel engine is an advantage for the Superb. The other car the company sells in India is the expensive Laura executive sedan.
The Ambition variant will come with the choice of two engine options: a 1.8 litre turbocharged petrol that develops 160 BHP of max power and 250 Nm of torque and a 2.0 litre TDI turbo diesel that develops 140 BHP of power and 320 Nm of torque. The car will be available with both 6 speed manual and 6 speed dual clutch automatic transmissions, but this entry level variant will be stripped off many features that other variants have.
The 2012 Suberb will get a facelift and the interior design ensures maximum comfort to the passengers. The features include electrically adjustable passenger and driver seats, electrically retractable sunroof for easy operation. ESP, ABS, EBD, MBA (Mechanical Brake Assistant), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assistant), ASR (Anti Slip Regulation) and TCS (Traction Control System) complete the list of safety features in the car.
