Mercedes Benz's 5 Small Cars To Explore India
German luxury carmaker Mercedes Benz said recently that it will have 5 cars in its small car portfolio in India. Mercedes-Benz had confirmed it will expand its model line-up in the country in a move to grab sales from other carmakers.
Mercedes Benz chairperson Mr Dieter Zetsche informed that the company will launch its small cars namely the A-Class, B-Class, production version of the CSC shown in Beijing, a crossover on the MFA Platform dubbed GLC and an unspecified model. Zetsche was speaking to reporters during a recent visit to India.

Mercedes was pushed to the third spot among luxury carmakers in India with its German counterparts BMW and Audi enjoying the first two positions. By launching the new cars, the company expects that it could regain the lost ground to other carmakers in the market.
All the new small cars will be based on Merc's MFA platform which was introduced on the B-Class last year. The company which has been in India for more than 15 years seems to be making an aggressive move in the recent times.
Meanwhile, the B-Class sports tourer is expected to arrive in India before October this year, but it is not clear when the A-Class will be launched. While It has been reported that the B-Class will be priced around Rs 20 lakhs, there has been no information from Mercedes Benz India on the details of the other cars.
