Maruti Suzuki Hikes Car Prices By Rs.17K

Maruti Suzuki India Managing Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales), Mr Mayank Pareek while speaking about the price hike said: “There has been an average increase in prices of our vehicles by 1.75 per cent after the Budget.”
India's best selling car, the Maruti Suzuki Alto will now be more expensive by Rs. 4,200 to Rs.5,900. The Alto K10's price has been increased by Rs.5,500 to Rs.5,700. Another Small car, the Wagon R will see its price increase by Rs.6,000 to Rs,7,600. The Wagon R Will Now cost between Rs.3.47 lakhs to Rs,4.37 Lakhs.
One of Maruti Suzuki's best selling models, the new Swift premium hatchback's price has been increased by Rs.7,000 to Rs,11,000. The new Swift's effective price will range between Rs.4.44 lakhs to 6.76 lakhs. The recently launched Swift DZire will now be more expensive by Rs,8,500 to Rs.12,700 taking its price range to Rs.4.8 lakhs to Rs.7.51 lakhs.
As we said earlier the SX4 mid level sedan will now be costlier by Rs,17,000 and will now cost Rs.7.11 lakhs to Rs.9.39 lakhs.
All major carmakers immediately announced their decision to increase prices following the increase in excise duty on cars and increased customs duty on imported cars. While many carmakers have already announced the quantum of the price hike, Maruti Suzuki appears to have taken some time to deliver its revised price list.
